Design and Production Certification EASA (DPO)

As part of our continuous improvement and commitment to meeting EU requirements, R-SYS enrolled in the certification process as a Design and Production Organisation (DPO) led by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in 2024.

This step aims to enhance the quality of our products and strengthen our customers’ trust in us as a business partner.

    Development

    As digitalization in modern aviation is subject to dynamic changes and evolving software requirements, we emphasize flexibility and adapt our systems to the latest technology and development platforms.

    Testing

    Rigorous FAT and SAT tests are performed in intensive communication with the customer in order to provide maximum efficiency and user experience in the production version of the system.

    Implementation

    When deploying/implementing the solution, we adhere to set deadlines and technical specifications consulted with the client.

Our story

History

2025
Today, R-SYS represents a middle-sized project-oriented IT company employing 55 highly skilled IT engineers and ATC/ATM specialists. The company is organized as a distributed team spread across multiple Slovak locations.
2023-24
We are developing VFR app and other new applications within our IXO system.

2021-22

Since December 2022, R-SYS has been certified by the information security management system according to the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standard. R-SYS supports the Mám Dron association - an initiative for education and networking in the development of drone operation in Slovakia. We developed the MamDron information system, which is available to the public, including an mobile application for safe planning of UAS flights.

2019-20

The R-SYS team is expanding again and, like others at this time, is struggling with the limitations caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to the development of ATM systems, we are working on solutions for the management of unmanned traffic. For a new client in the Netherlands we are developing a cloud-based solution for flight plan management.

2016-18

In 2016, we became a subsidiary of ERA, which acquired a majority stake in R-SYS. In this period, we join the SESAR Ju Horizon 2000 project and we become a member of GUTMA. We also acquire new projects in Hungary, Albania and Poland.

2014-15

In this period we started to work more closely with ERA on MIS and C2D projects. At the same time, we are expanding our cooperation with the Slovak ANSP and starting to develop the Common Ground Surveillance System.

2009-13

The company establishes an office in Košice and recruits new professionals. In 2013 we obtained ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certificates. In addition to continuing to work for existing clients, R-SYS is expanding its focus to include additional systems and modules for air traffic needs.

2008

15 new employees are gradually joining the company this year. The tradition of annual teambuilding was also established, which we continue to this day. The company is working on its first projects - the installation of surveillance data processing equipment for civil/military air traffic control and the development of a recording/replay system for Slovak ANSP.

The original owners of ALES s.r.o. start business under the new name R-SYS s.r.o.
